Plastomix Plastic Repair System is mainly oriented to autobody shops and makes possible fast and easy repairs on most of the damage to plastic parts. Most small crashes usually damage bumpers, lights, front grills, blinkers and side protection.

The insurance companies are pushing the repair centres to repair instead of replacing as it guarantees less expensive and faster operations. The range is studied in order to fulfil the requirements of the industry and two different cartridge sizes are available: 6fl oz and 1.6 fl oz in the same following materials.

Rigid 2001 for repairing rigid plastics

Rapid Putty for cosmetic finishing and small scratches; to be applied with a spatula and without using the mixer tip. Simple to use, it is an excellent base product for over-painting with ground coat, paint and texture paint without creating any allowing.

Film 8
This plastic film is used to shape the product; the repair material does not bond on this film and it allows the technician to work cleanly.

Patch 88
Fiberglass + plastic film is used as a base for applying the product, it gives extra strength and structure to the repaired area, it protects the hands from contact with the product.

Cleaner 2011
A water base cleaner and degreaser used to clean the plastic part. Solvent must not be used as it would be bsorbed by the plastic and it would create problems during the painting procedures.

Primer 2010
Increases the adhesion between the plastic and the repai material and is absolutely necessary on TPO and thermo plastics in order to avoid and plastic identification mistake. Do not use on SMC or fiberglass.

Plastomix instructions

CLEANING clean the surface to be repaired using Cleaner 2011 and a dry cloth, do not forget to clean the part from both sides. It's very important to remove dust, grease and all contaminants in general. PREPERATION grind the damaged part with 80 grit sand paper on both sides. Make a V groove along the damaged area and use 80 grit sand paper on the surrounding area. Sand the back side of the repair area.
   
CLEANING and PRIMER clean the sanded surface with Cleaner 2011. Wait approximately 2 minutes and then apply 2010 primer and wait 5 minutes before applying the plastic repair product. APPLICATION select the proper Plastomix PU product in reference to the type of plastic to be repaired. Cut the Patch 88 in the right dimension to cover the back part of the damage. Apply PU on the patch 88 and place it on the back side f the repair within 50 seconds.
   
SHAPING use the film 8 on the front surface. Push ample Plastomix PU material through the break to the front and shape it with your hand. Do not touch the product directly with unprotected skin. The film 8 must be used every time. SANDING after 15 minutes film 8 can be removed. Sand the repaired area (use 80 grit sand paper and finish with 180 grit sand paper with 2-3 grit steps) to a smooth finish avoiding excessive speed and heat.
   
FINISHING clean the surface with cleaner 2011. If necessary, use the primer 2010 and apply Plastomix rapid putty with spatulas to fill minor imperfections of the repaired surface. REFINISHING after 15 minutes sand the rapid putty with 180-220 grit sanding paper. Clean the area with cleaner2011. Before painting please follow paint manufacturer's instructions.
