The Stata-tube sections are injection moulded in
one operation. This moulding procedure ensures a low unit cost, excellent
quality control and rugged reinforced geometry. Metal or plastic tubing
may be used to house the mixing sections.
In applications where solids or fibres are present, clipped sections
are recommended. This "Non plugged" geometry eliminates the
sharp crevices, where material can build up and plug the mixer.
The sections are stocked in two engineering plastics, which are described
below. If required, the sections can also be supplied in other plastics,
such as Kynar
Polyplas
is our proprietary plastic developed to have the toughness and chemical
inertness required by the adhesives and sealants industry. Polyplas
is completely inert to all common solvents, such as MEK, acetone, and
methylene chloride. Its maximum service temperature is 250 deg F. polyplas
is not recommended for mixing water and acids.
Polypropylene
is a polyolefin, which has excellent chemical resistance. It is inert
to water, as well as acids and bases. Its maximum service temperature
is 200 deg F.
